The U.S. Department of Energy Building Technologies Office (BTO) conducts work in three key areas in order to continually develop innovative, cost-effective energy saving solutions: research and development (R&D), market stimulation, and building codes and equipment standards. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) supports the BTO by recruiting qualified experts from industry, academia, all levels of government, and public policy and advocacy groups to review the current year’s portfolio of funded projects.
As an independent expert, you are asked to assess the progress and the contributions of the individual projects toward BTO’s mission and goals. The reviewer evaluations are used to enhance the management of the program, gauge the effectiveness of the projects and provide input into future programs. The program review meeting also provides an excellent opportunity to promote collaboration and technology transfer. Reviewers must attend the meeting.
